Coach Sean Notes (May 24, 2009)

Hi everyone,

what an exciting end to the season, two good performances extending our unbeaten finish to the season to six games which was a season long.

The players fought hard all year and did really well in meeting all of the challenges put forward to them. I want to take this opportunity to thank them for a very good and enjoyable season which brought us alot of joy. Two second place tournament finishes a round robin win and a round robin second place. Add to that the huge developments that the team made and it was great.

Thanks to the parents who make all of this possible and thanks to the sponsors of our team. I want to also thank my coaches who during the season have helped the playyers get better. I think what we developed during practice was an environment for optimum develpoment and lots of fun. We really did have fun out there.

I want to thank Kelly Blaine for all of her hard work in working closely with me to again make it all possible.

Weve already looking towards next season and developing our team even more, I'm excited.

Thanks for your support and i will see you tuesday.

Danger win Round Robin in Exciting Season Finale

By Kristen Mitchell

Paris Danger travelled to Bee Creek Soccer Park for their season finale this past Saturday, a round Robin event against old foe’s MC Elite and MC Extreme.

In the opening game, MC Elite hosted Paris Danger who donned those tornado socks once again. It was MC Elite who started the brightest with Reagan Pettinger getting much of the ball down the Danger left. However it was Kara Grace Brogdon who broke the deadlock directing a Sophie Carter corner kick into the net. As the half wore on the Danger dressed in red shirts worked the MC Elite keeper on numerous occasions, including a 25 yard screamer from Gracie Clayton which brought a terrific save. From a wide cross MC Elite then leveled the game as the striker poked home a rare MC Elite shot. This spurred on the Danger who benefitted from a mazy run and equally terrific finish from Sophie Carter. The score at half time read 2-1. The second half was largely dominated by the Danger and Kara Grace Brogden scored her 8th goal of the season making it a 3-1 advantage to the visitors. In the final minutes MC Elite got a goal back halfing the final score which read 3-2, the win was the 9th of the season for the Danger and was met with great applause and appreciation from the dedicated supporters.

In the second game a white shirted Danger got off to the best possible start with Sophie Carter firing in a superb solo goal. However a lapse in concentration let Extreme level the score with a back post effort. However Sophie Carter scored a trademark goal to give the lead back to the Danger, the goal was her 16th of the spring season. Again an equalizer from Extreme just after half time allowed the Danger to pick up the tie also resulting in the Danger finishing the season unbeaten in six games.

The final game of the Day was between MC Elite and MC Extreme, Coach Sean got word that MC Elite won the game with Reagan Pettinger scoring a brace. That result meant the Danger won the round robin.

Coach Sean Fraser commented afterwards ‘I have asked a lot of my players all season and the players times ahead’

The Danger improves to 9-6-4 on the season and will have their end of season party at Memorial Park on Tuesday.

Coach Sean Notes (May 17, 2009)

Hi Everyone,

Thank you four your support and noise this weekend, the games were fantastic and the noise you made really spurred our girls on to be succesful, not just for u10 but those of you who stayed to watch the u12's and scream for them. OUTSTANDING!!! I told the players i was proud of them but also proud of the parents for everything you guys do! THANK YOU!

This weekend was a very special weekend for me! I was particularly proud of my team who put on a display of team work and togetherness! The hustle from each and every player was simply breathtaking. I dont know if you noticed but they had that look in their faces all weekend, the look of readiness and hunger! Do you think last weekend at Hopkinsville was good for us? in a way!!!!

I knew the girls were ready, they were flying around in practice this week even against me! when i joined in i was just collecting bruises and bumps! it was great! They really pushed themselves to work out the rough edges and get better at what they needed too!

I'm excited for the future of the team and our girls! Their consistent success is just going to get better! It really is, and i look forward to bringing that out of them in the coming seasons! I had one or two college coaches talk to me about the players, one in particular commenting on how organised they were individually and how they all knew what they had to do to input for team success. It made me feel good, and again proud to be their coach!

i dont know if youve noticed but the one thing that has inspired us is our work on saturdays and getting a good start in tournaments, in the four tournaments weve had we have won both saturday games on three seperate occasions! (Mayfield, Calvert City and Clarksville) Fantastic isnt it!

We look forward to this week and implementing what i want from them this summer and working on their own to get better! using the time off to improve! We will also look to get revenge on MC Elite for beating us in Paris at the round robin. It should be an enjoyable week, have as much fun with it as i do!

thanks for your support!

See you tuesday

Danger place second in Clarksville

By Kristen Mitchell

The 99 Lady Danger of Paris, Tennessee travelled to Clarksville for their final tournament of the spring 09 season. Coming off a disappointing tournament the previous week the Danger girls were determined to do better this weekend, they used great team work and hustle and showed huge character to play some of the best soccer they have ever produced.

In the opening game of the tournament 99 Lady Rapids provided the opposition and used their early possession to great advantage firing an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner of the Danger goal. Half time came and the score stood at 1-0 rapids. In the second half the Danger piled on the pressure lead by the driven play of Sophie Carter and Erika Blaine amongst others. It was no surprise when Sophie Carter scored a trademark goal breezing past 3 defenders and firing a low shot across goal and into the corner leveling the game. Coach Sean Fraser threw caution to the wind putting on an attacking line up and Kara Grace Brogdon rewarded him with a beautiful solo goal with help from Gracie Clayton, During the game Chynna Haas kept her team in the game with save after save. The Danger ran out 2-1 winners.

In the second game of the tournament against Tullahoma Lester the Danger looked a lot more comfortable and took a lead midway through the second period as Kara Grace Brogdon scored a low shot. Valiant defending from Giovanna Owen, Rudi Wimberlay and Kaylynn Jarnigan coupled with an outstanding Chynna Haas display kept the Tullahoma strikers at bay until a free kick that shouldn’t have been was converted into the net by the Tullahoma striker. The Danger again threw caution to the wind going for the win and Sophie Carter smashed home a bobbling ball from 7 yards sending the Danger followers into raptures. Again outstanding defending allowed the Danger to see the game out as 2-1 winners.

Sunday morning came and the points system had Kaos 1 point ahead of Danger before their meeting effectively making it a ‘championship game’. The game was very exciting from start to finish but exceptional defending and goalkeeping on both sides fashioned a final result of 0-0. A terrific effort from the Lady Danger meant they picked up second place and an ovation from their following dressed in a sea of red!

Coach Sean Fraser commented ‘We stayed unbeaten and matched the best team around (Kaos), what more can I ask for? My team displayed outstanding teamwork and togetherness whileshowing terrific character to bounce back from last weekends disappointments. Great job to all’

The teams season record now improves to 8-6-3 and they will close the season with scrimmage action in Murray against MC Elite next Saturday.

Coach Sean Notes (May 10, 2009)

Happy Mother's day to all

Thanks for your support this weekend i have had many kids messages and comments from people regarding our little team. It really is much appreciated, especially during weekends like this one we just had.

Obviously the results we got were not as expected, I apologize sincerely and i will assure you that i will have the team better prepared and in the correct mindset for next week. Not that they wernt this weekend, i think we just didnt get the rub of the green that you sometimes need. The fields again were of poor standard, im sure if it had been dry they would have been solid enough to play good soccer, they were muddy and just soft, which makes it hard for the kids. We rely on our speed and our actual soccer play. Not many teams can pass and run with the ball like us, but the field conditions slow down our legs and make dribbling with the ball a task!

I'm very sure our girls will come back stronger next week. I'm proud of them, they showed great team spirit in sticking together especially when the results werent going for us. Many of them showed how much passion and enthusiasm they had when they came of after the second game. I was proud of my girls! It almost made me tear up for them.

We have two weeks of our season left, where has it all gone? its been exciting so far and i'm sure theres going to be more excitement, stick with us. I'm hoping and praying for some flat, solid fields and some decent weather next week! Finally we may get some!

Looking into the flaws of our weekend, there arent many, we only conceeded four goals. Not bad really, i felt we could have stopped one or two, we had plenty of opportunities but for whatever reason didnt convert enough. On another weekend we could have had 10 goals to show for it. Put it this way, it would be alarming if we werent creating chances, but we are, and i'm counting down the days until we really put a beat down on someone! were threatening to do that!

I look forward to an exciting week of practice, a great challenge for me as a coach. These are the weeks we find out how good our coaches are, its going to be a test for me and my staff to pick up the girls and get them firing again! get them smiling and bring back that enthusiasm! I know its hard to loose! especially at their age. But were up for the challenge and excited to see how its going to pan out!

I look forward to seeing you all this week! Again thans for your continued support! it has been a great pleasure of mine to get to know you guys so far this year!

Coach Sean Notes (May 3, 2009)

Hi everyone,

Im sure you will agree in saying that our girls did us proud this weekend, the effort on display was second to none, the was our girls played physical and aggressive soccer all over the field was a joy to watch. While The sheer team spirit on show was outstanding.

This weekend i feel was a tale of two halves, Breaking it down into halves (3 games, 2 halves per game = 6 halves) The first three halves were about mistake free, we were stingy on defense and very exciting going forward. Yet the final three halves were a little less 'intense'. Again though its a great oportunity for us to learn, and get through. We did great this weekend and to highlight the passion our girls had shwed in their expressions after that last game. I told them i was proud of them but we have to use this dissapointment as amunition in a way that we can win next weekend. We simply cannot afford to dwell on it with us having games next week and thats a great thing as it helps us (hopefully) forget this upset.

I will be doing my upmost to push the girls on to get better in the two sessions we have before going to Hopkinsville, we will play teams much the same as this weekend. Please do your best to help our girls get pumped and ready to go for practice and then the games. We have 3 weeks left of our season, all with games. I mentioned to some of you that it was going to be very exciting and i still stand by that.

I know its early to ask and as parents you all do a great job but please, make plenty of noise on the sidelines next weekend, make the atmosphere a one the girls will remember, lets make it a 'european style soccer setting' i can assure you, our girls love it and it does help i promise.

Have a great week and enjoy watching them practice like never before,

best wishes

Coach Sean

Sunday Curse Strikes again!!! and so does the weather!!!

By Kristen Mitchell

After an exciting first two games, the Paris Danger u10 girls could not win a tournament that they will most likely think they should have. However the excitement provided and determination displayed contributed to some of the best soccer the team has ever played.
As usual the weather had its say In things with torrential downpours for the previous 48 hours making a very wet and muddy field.

In the opening game at 8am, the Danger showed their quality early and raced to a 2-0 lead, Sophie Carter and Erika Blaine scoring two superb goals. Team work and hustle managed to keep the Lady Ambush at bay and the girls helped Chynna Hass pick up the shut out with a 2-0 win with the lady Ambush only posting 4 shots.

After grilling out for lunch the Danger girls faced MC Extreme in the late afternoon game. They got off to a great start as Sophie Carter repaid her parents for the cotton candy with two brilliantly finished goals. Erika Blaine, and Gracie Clayton went close to adding to the tally until they let a goal slip. Midway through the second period Sophie Carter picked up her hat trick with another breakaway goal. Giovanna Owen, Rudi Beth Wimberly and Kaylynn Jarnigan kept the MC Extreme forwards at bay until they made it an interesting finish to the game with a goal that halved the defecit. The Danger girls saw the remaining minutes out and picked up their second win in consecutive games. Extreme posted 10 shots at goal while the Danger replied with 7.

In the Sunday morning game against Clarksville Royals, the bad weather overnight contributed to an even worse playing surface, The Danger got a slow start with the Royals opening the scoring. As the game went on the Danger lost confidence and concentration and let 3 goals slip which ended the game 4-0 to the delight of the Royals who advanced to the final, while tears of disappointment were to be seen on many Danger soccer player faces.

After the games, Danger Coach Sean Fraser commented, ‘we just let the last game slip away from us, but I am positive our girls are going to react positively and use this as ammo for next weekend.’

The Danger now sit at 6-4-1 and travel to Hopkinsville for the Kicker Classic on Saturday and Sunday and will face Ambush, MC Extreme and Clarksville Impact.

Coach Sean Notes (April 25, 2009)

Hi Danger fans

a very different week past for us as tuesday we took team and individual pictures, we didnt have the time to get a practice in, and i felt like giving the players a midseason rest was a luxury we could afford, at this time of the year the temperature is rising and the kids will begin to expend more energy, maybe the light week will help us!

Thursday we had somewhat of a session with the u12, our girls got a chance to get better by playing against older players, it went well for the team as alot of players managed to get some good work in! i cut practice short because i felt like there may have been a few too many injuries (potentially)

This week we will have a normal schedule before going to calvert city and the Kentucky Lake Invitational, if the girls play like we know they can there isnt many teams in our area that can live with us! i will be doing my upmost to bring that this weekend! As we know it is 6v6 and with 12 players that can ultimatley cause selection problems, and headaches for people who maybe would start, less playing time is available and its up to the players to work hard on tuesday and thursday to earn their time, and earn their spot! Im hoping no one gets too dissapointed if they do not get sufficient time, please bear with me it is tough.

Off the field you guys have again pulled together to raise a great deal of money for the team! i really appreciate what your doing, it all helps, we have a great club here and a very 'together' atmosphere, again thank you all.

enjoy the rest of your weekend and lets go to Calvert City full off confidence and looking to bring back a trophy!

Coach Sean Notes (April 18, 2009)

Hi Danger fans

another great week of practice this week has built on our recent progress, i pushed the girls hard, challenged them mentally and physically, i wanted them to become stronger, and alot more competetive, we worked on our weaknesses which were penetrating the opposition and moving into dangerous areas with a more positive attitude.

We were boosted with having Riley and Sophie back with us but had a few knocks during the week thanks to Physical education at school, Gracie Clayton had to drop out during thursdays practice and im sure you all join me in wishing her a speedy recovery.

The u12 Danger played today, and thanks to a flu bug and some other issues had 6 players missing, this gave me the opportunity to bring Giovanna and Sophie along, Gio had the opportunity to play with family (Katie Owen) , which i think is a great experience while also having her learn even more about her leadership role within our club, which i think she definatley did. Sophie needed minutes after her injury for us to have her at her optimum best. While both girls managed at least half a game in both games they both put in outstanding performances playing against girls 2 years and 3 feet taller. Sophie had a few dazzling runs at the defence who seemed twice as tall she also got an assist for a goal, she looked very lively and a definate goal threat. While Giovanna was her usual tough tackling self, she managed to knock a 6 foot tall girl on the ground in a 50/50 challenge, i couldnt help but be proud of my little heroes!

this week we have pictures on tuesday our girls will be in white shrts, red shorts and white socks, the older girls will join us while we will take individual and team pictures with a big group one also! we will scrimmmage each other after that. Thursday is obviously the fish fry, i may have a double session with both teams practicing together. as i know its going to be a hectic time for everyone.

have a great weekend!

Coach Sean

Team Pictures

Team pictures will be Tuesday, April 21st. The girls should wear their red jerseys and also bring their white for the combined team picture with the U12 team.

Notes from Coach Sean (April 12)

Happy Easter Danger followers.

Hard work and effort were the key to us having a very successful weekend. Not just hard work by the players on the field, hard work by you guys getting the off field activities together, it was a real team effort and i as the coach appreciate that 100%, you guys showed great character and work ethic to help raise the necessary fund for our team to keep rolling along!

Back to the events on the field, i hope you agree that our girls did us proud getting us back on track with two very good performances, obviously there were going to have to improve on but for now we cant look further than the facts, we have a winning record and have been 'in' every game, and but for one or two things we could have won every game so far.

I think this weekend was the hardest any team of mine has ever worked for me during a game, the work ethic and passion on display from the girls was simply terrific. I want to call for more of the same though, because carrying that type of heart can go a very long way at Calvert City in a few weeks.

One aspect i was pleased with and actually mentioned to one or two of you guys was how we worked on sliding and shifting as a team, left, right, forward and back, we spent probably 30 minutes working on it in practice on thursday and for every minute of the games we carried it out perfectly, this just goes to show how hard working and receptive our players are.

Finishing second (again) wasnt bad, we deserved something, and like i told the girls after the game, were getting there! and if we continue to work like we are Calvert City is going to be great! I'm excited that we have 6 practices (weather permitting) before then to work, thats going to leave the girls hungry to play, 3 weeks without a game should hopefully have them ready to explode on whoever we play against!

Obviously you all know we sent out report cards this week! i did that so the girls knew where they stood and what they needed to get working on, maybe before practice if they have time! its all going to help us get better! Depending on how the girls feel (we will discuss at practice) we may cut 30 mins from practice time and let them go a little early, i understand they have tcap testing this week and they will be fried!!! i will leave that up to the girls!

What do you guys think? how are you enjoying it? please feel free to comment below! your feedback is great!

i hope youve enjoyed your easter and we will see you on tuesday!

Danger place second in Round Robin action.

By Kristen Mitchell

The 99 Lady Danger of Paris Tennessee hosted a round robin this weekend at Memorial Park in Paris TN. The tournament had three teams; the other’s being MC Elite and Clarksville Royals. The tournament rules included 3 points for a win, and one for a tie. The tiebreaker if needed would be goal difference.

In the opening contest The Lady Danger entertained MC Elite. Coach Sean Fraser had to reshuffle his line up without Sophie Carter (Knee) and Riley Browning (Out of town). He was however boosted by the return to the squad of Sami Millette who has been suffering with a bout of the flu.

Dressed in white for the first time this season the Danger controlled the first half having the lion’s share of possession but failed to fashion a clear goal scoring opportunity. The game remained goaless at the interval. The second half was much of the same with the Danger dominating possession until a breakaway goal for Elite spoiled the show, neither team managed to record more than a handful of shots. MC Elite held on and claimed a 1-0 victory.
In the second game of the day MC Elite knew a win would secure the winner’s trophy. They dominated play and ran out eventual 3-1 winners.

Clarksville Royals then raided the Pizza and water part of the concession stand before they took on the host team. The Danger again controlled the game from the start with Gracie Clayton going close to opening her Danger goal scoring account. However, It was Kara Grace Brogdon who opened the scoring to the delight of the large Danger following as she latched on to a cross from Gracie Clayton firing into the net from 7 yards out. The Danger closed out the half with Giovanna Owen, Rudi Beth Wimberley and Kaylynn Jarnigan defending with great maturity. The second half was again dominated by the Danger who provided many flashes of brilliance from all over the field. Solid defending and goalkeeping helped Chynna Haas pick up her third shutout of the season. The final score finished 1-0 and the Danger placed second in the round robin.

Coach Sean Fraser commented ‘Our girls fought hard, they’ve had that eye of the tiger all week and came out and did us proud. It was a real team effort today’

The 99 Lady Danger now sit with a record of 4-3-1 and have a few weeks off with their next scheduled event being the Calvert City tournament on May 2nd.

Notes from Coach Sean (April 5)

Hi Danger fans.

A dissapointing day yesterday as we fell victim to a 3-1 scoreline to a Jackson Rush team who i think we will all agree we had the beating of!

Without wanting to make excuses i do believe that if we had practiced Thursday we would have been better prepared! However we have to look at the positives, which when scrimmaging you always have to look for. One of the biggest things was the quality of our defending at times! We had their forwards sealed up for most of the game! Big word being most! it only takes one second of sloppy concentration anywhere on the field to make a mistake and give your opponent an opportunity!

I told the girls after the game that it was great for us to learn that, We now know and will have it in our minds that we have to concentrate for every second! i think were going to be a stronger team because of this experience (By experience i mean conceding 3 goals late in each period of play)!!!

As we all know Sophie got hurt towards the end of the game. Were looking at her being out for a week with a strain of her left mcl!! On behalf of Paris Danger i would like to wish Sophie a speedy recovery. Sophie has scored 7 goals in the 6 games we have had so far!

Next week is a big week for us, we host a round robin tournament and i would like you to start getting the girls ready! theres a trophy for the winning team there and being the hosts, we would love to keep it in Paris! Just a quick note, We will be busting out the new white shirts, red shorts and Tornado socks for the games!

Let me assure you that we will be getting some work done in practice this week!!! I'm excited and were at the stage now where we are ready for that big push!!!

With Sophie being out for the week it is an opportunity for someone else to step up and earn a starting spot! not just while she's out but even when shes back!

Also i would like to mention that next week we will be selling refreshments possibly including water, gatorade and Burgers. Lets all pull together and make this happen.

Finally i would like to thank Denny Millette for all his hard work this season so far, he has decided to step down and enjoy watching Samy progress froma Dad's perspective. Much of the teams success stems from the hard work of Denny and im sure you will join me in wishing him a very enjoyable season.

I would also like to thank all of the people who do things behind the scene's that many of us dont see. Again much of the kid's success and ENJOYMENT is down to the hard work you guys do. The people include Kelly Blaine, Nina Owen, Shannon Browning, Heather Carter and of course assistant coach Kristen (Krum - haha). If i have forgot to thank anyone else please dont take it personally! you know i am very gratefull!

See you all Tuesday! Have a great rest of the weekend!

Paris Danger 1 – 3 Jackson Rush

By Kristen Mitchell

The 99 Lady Danger travelled to Jackson for scrimmage action against Jackson Rush this past weekend, and despite an early goal from Sophie Carter the physical Rush managed to pull through with 3 goals and win the game.

The Danger got at The Rush from the first whistle and Sophie Carter fashioned a dangerous cross to Riley Browning which brought solid defending to keep the scores level. After three or four surges forward the Danger managed to break the deadlock, Sophie Carter crashed a 30 yard effort into the bottom corner on a direct free kick.

As the half wore on the Rush gradually wore down the Danger backline and forced Chynna Hass into proving why she is one of the top keepers in the age bracket. Eventually they found a breakthrough and scored what the Danger girls will call a sloppy goal!

The second period was all Rush offense, while the Danger defended solidly lead By Sam Millette, Giovanna Owen and Kaylynn Jarnigan. With seconds remaining, a concentration lapse allowed the Rush to go 2-1 up.

As the game was only a scrimmage the two teams agreed to play 3 periods of play. The final period was all Danger as the girls dressed in Red shirts and shorts piled on the pressure, Gracie Clayton showed her dribbling skills on several occasions which brought great success down the right and left flank’s. Again with time expiring The Rush scored with a 20 yard strike which flew into the bottom corner of Chynna Hass’ goal.

Danger Head Coach Sean Fraser simply said ‘we just let it get away from us, but we have learned that we have to concentrate and work for the whole game, That will help us when we get to competitive match play’

The Danger slip to 3-2-1 on the season and will host a round robin classic this weekend at Memorial Park in Paris, TN. They will entertain Murray MC Elite and Clarksville Impact. Games are scheduled to begin at 10am.

99 Lady Danger Impress in Mayfield

By Kristen Mitchell

The 99 Lady Danger of Paris TN traveled to Mayfield, Kentucky this weekend for their opening tournament of the spring 2009 soccer season.

Dressed in all red the Danger girls got off to a great start against MC Elite as Sophie Carter scored two quick goals. In the second half Goalkeeper Chynna Haas saved a Penalty kick to protect her first shut out of the season and a Danger win with the final score at 2-0. The Danger posted 11 shots while MC Elite tested Haas on 14 occasions.

In the Saturday afternoon game, the Danger managed to overcome the terrible conditions and put on a display that excited the large amount of Danger followers. Kara Grace Brogdon opened the scoring with a looping shot over the goalkeepers head. A quiet end to the half meant a 1-0 lead for the Danger girls at intermission. The second half started brightly and the Lady Danger pressed for more goals, Kara Grace Brogdon added her second while Sophie Carter and Riley Browning added to an Erika Blaine thunderbolt. Solid defending led by Captain Giovanna Owen and Sami Millette helped Chynna Haas pick up her second consecutive shutout as Danger Keeper. The score read 5-0.

Sunday morning started slowly and after finding themselves 2-0 at half time against SI United the 99 Lady Danger battled back and were rewarded by a left foot goal from Sophie Carter, as the girls pushed on lead by the driven play of Gracie Clayton. Time expired handing the Danger their first loss this season.

In the final game of the tournament against MC Extreme the Girls knew that if they won they could still win the tournament out right depending on other results. A Kara Grace Brogdon goal midway through the opening half took the Danger into half time with a 1-0 lead. Fatigue and poor playing conditions then began to affect the players as they began to slow down, a scrappy goal from extreme meant the game finished tied at 1-1.

As the game ended the girls found out they had finished second and collected their medals. Danger Head Coach Sean Fraser commented ‘’The mentality of our players is first class, we’ve come away disappointed with second, that shows they’re hungry for more, I’m really proud of every one of them.’’

The 99 Lady Danger now sits at 3-1-1 on the season and they will travel to Jackson TN, on Saturday for action against Tennessee Rush.

Notes from Coach Sean (March 29)

Hi Danger followers.

i hope you enjoyed the weekend just as i did.

i think we've come a long way in the short space of time that we've been in season. Our girls did us proud on saturday beating MC Elite and WKYFC 2-0 and 5-0 respectively. I thought we played with great spirit and work ethic while the quality of our play was top class. The most pleasing part for me was the way we defended as a unit. It wasn't just an individual effort but a team effort and the shut outs were a collective success.

Sunday (today) i feel we just ran out of gas. We were burnt out and the state of the fields didn't do much to help. I must say it's hard to get into a flow/rhythm when the ball doesn't roll or bounce.

Looking at the positives we must feel good about our weekend, finishing second is a great start to our competetive season and like i told the players, i am and we should be proud of them and the effort they have put on display.

This upcoming week is a big week as we seek to build on our success so far, we play Jackson Rush on saturday and for me personally its a huge game. Its also an opportunity to get back to winning ways.

We will practice Tuesday and Thursday as normal this week and look forward to getting even better.

Finally i would like to add that the kids looked great with all their new gear on, arent we flash!!!!

Have a great sunday night!!!!

Coach Sean Notes (March 21, 2009)

Hi Danger fans

Not much to report this week after just two practices, it seems like weve slowed down alot, probably because of the cancellations of practice and the weather last week.

two decent practices this past week will help us build on our confidence that we have already gained.

We have a tournament in Mayfield this next weekend and in the days upcoming its going to take focus and hard work to get us to where we need to be.

As far as i know, all of our stuff came in and were waiting on embroidery and then it will be handed out this week.

thats for reading and enjoy your weekend

Notes from Coach Sean, March 14th, 09

Hi Danger Parents,

well this week was very slow with us not having any practices, just the game on monday afternoon. I cant get used o this Tennessee weather, red hot and sunny on monday while practice cancelled because of snow on thursday!

The weather made it a perfect day for soccer and we got off to a great start with Sophie Carter scoring two great goals. After letting two slip we managed to pull out the win with Riley Browning scoring a far post shot from a Gracie Clayton pass.

I was really pleased with the energy and speed we played with while the response to my coaching was great, we really learned alot about ourselves. I was particularly excited about the strength of our defense (Chyna, Sami, Giovanna and Kaylynn) we didnt look to have any problems at all

Hopefully with a little more work and effort we can go onto better things, again we looked comfortable on the ball and looked to pass and play what i like to call 'pure soccer'.

Thanks for being there and making it a great occasion.

On another good note the uniforms and warm ups are all in and ready to be printed monday, so we should be fine to have them given out sometime this week at practice.

Enjoy your weekend!!

Practice has been cancelled for today, our next practice is scheduled for tuesday

Notes from Coach Sean, March 7th, 09

Hi Danger fanatics,

After completing our first week under the new regime i would like to say that the coaching staff is very pleased with the progress made in such a short period of time, as a whole the team has improved through individual work and positive attitude, it would be a lie to say that there hasnt been or wont be any teething problems, but as a whole myself, Denny and Kristen have felt really good about our acheivements so far.

Consistency will be the key this season, as we search to improve on the past three seasons, consistency not just from the players but also the coaches and anyone involved with the club. Consistency during practice, games and any other team event.

Yesterday i was particularly pleased with the way the players tried to pass the ball, Obviously i dont want to get carried away with this as we havent had a true game situation yet, but all we can do is look at how its gone so far, and i think our 8 , 9 and 10 year old girls have acted and worked with real maturity this past week. I thank them all for their hard work, but let this be a call for even more. More hard work and more determination to GET BETTER.

Looking forward to the game on monday, its going to be exciting, were not sure if the warm ups and uniforms will be in, if they arent we will work something else out. We will be kicking off at 5, i would like for the players to be there no later than 415 unless thats impossible (please let me know) we have a good pre game warm up and i would like for them to 'get in the zone' with plenty of time before the game!

We will not practice tuesday after the game on monday! our next practice will be thursday, we had 5 practices this week and i really do not want to burn out the players or have them missing homework, rest is also just as important as work!

again, thanks for reading and please feel free to comment on these blogs. you can click on the comment word below my notes and it will allow you to have your say. its great to hear from you guys and get an insight into your thoughts

have a great weekend, see you monday!!

Saying Goodbye (Notes from Kelly)

I never expected when we became part of the Paris Danger Team that it would also become a family of sorts, but a family it has become. Saturday we gathered to say goodbye to part of our little family, the Yanagisawas. With us since the first practice ever held as a newly formed team two years ago, it is hard for any of us to imagine the team without Himeno and everything that she brought to it, Koki and Yuki with their never-ending reserve of positiveness, laughter and grace, or Tsukino and Kotono with their bright smiles and playful spirits. We send you off with much gratitude for having had all of you as part of this team, with hopes of a wonderful life for you back in Japan, and dreams that someday soon our paths will meet again. It truly has been an honor. Arigato, sayonara, and WE WILL MISS YOU.

Notes from Coach Sean, Feb 28th, 09

Hi everyone,

its saturday and time to talk, all things Danger!

To be honest there isnt much to report except that were all gearing up for a good week of practice starting monday. Kelly has done a great job ordering the warm up suits and tactic board for practice and game use!

Monday i had a few spare hours so i got out and sold some of that lovely toffee! I havent had time to since then, i managed to sell 38 bags monday to add to the 40 last week.

The older Danger had their camp this week and they had a great week! Sophie Carter came and helped them out in the scrimmage game today and did extremely well. Late in the 2nd half of the game she went on a mazy run beating 2 or 3 people and shot just wide from 15 yards.

Looking forward to seeing you all this monday and hoping that you are getting the kids ready to work!

have a great weekend

Feb 21, 2009. Coach Sean, Notes from tryouts

Hi Danger followers,

I trust youve all warmed up since being out in the rain this morning. I felt practice went fine this morning, we saw some good things and some things that need a little attention. But at this stage of our players lives that is no surprise. If they didnt have things to work on they would be famous and worth millions.

Thanks to you all for coming out and watching, i know that must have been tough in the rain.

Here is our squad (in Alphabetical order) and the relative details you need. I apologise for any spelling mistakes

Erika Blaine
Kara Grace Brogdon
Riley Browning
Sophie Carter
Gracie Clayton
Chyna Haas
Kaylynn Jarnigan
Sami Millette
Giovanna Owen
Allison Reagor
Leila Summers
Rudi Beth Wimberley

The team Captain will be Giovanna Owen, while Sophie Carter will be the co-captain and will wear the arm band should Giovanna not be on the field!

Camp will be at memorial field from 430 until 6 the week of March 2nd and will run through until March 6th.

Players are expected to be at every practice and i do not tolerate showing up late or missing practice, i do not also tolerate misbehavior, should a player not do what i tell them they will no longer be a part of the team, i have no problem removing a player from my squad at any time of the season! This does not just apply to players, i expect parents to behave with respect and order, if you do not, your child will suffer! Simple as that

Kelly will be in touch with all of the details this upcoming week, we are going to be ordering warm ups in the next few days while the new uniforms are already on their way.

As i said last week, the u12 danger will have camp this week starting monday from 530 until 7 at Memorial park, if you want to, please feel free to come and watch.

Have a great week and i will see you guys on the 2nd.

Feb 14, 2009 Notes from Coach Sean

Hi Danger fans and Happy Valentines,

Not too much to report this week, we had a great meeting this past monday and worked out alot of things regarding the season.

Kelly has finalised the tournaments and picture days where we will show off our new uniforms, these are posted on here. Heather Carter will be working on scheduling the other games. Home and away, and please note that we have changed our home venue to Memorial Park.

Nina Owen will be in charge of fund raising and this is an area that im really excited about and i know shes going to do such a great job!

we have one week until the try outs, to make it as fair as possible i am having four coaches voluntarily be there, all of different generations and experience regarding soccer and coaching levels, (i being one of them) all four judges will be judging players and grading them throughout the session. At the end i will count up all the points and the top 12 will make the squad, we cant say fairer than that! i dont want it to be just one person's decision, to avoid any bias and any favoritism i feel this will be the best way to do things, after all, im sure there are going to be some great players there next week!

After the tryouts each person will have to log onto this website and my new blog, where i will post the squad for the spring 2009 season! i toyed with the idea of calling each player and their parents and explaining why they did or didnt make the squad but i simply do not have the time in my schedule to do that. If anyone wants to call me however they are more than welcome!

At tryouts the coaching will be split between myself and Denny, i want to take a little bit of a backseat so i can take everything in. During the season i will take a more hands on role, starting with 'team camp' on march 2nd. I also want to note that the 23rd through the 28th is the older Danger camp, if you guys want to come and watch feel free, practice will be from 530 until 7 that week.

Cant wait to see you guys next week, please make sure the kids bring plenty of fluids and are dressed appropriatly for soccer and the weather conditions, it may also be beneficial for them to have a good stretch of the muscles in the days prior to tryouts, this can prevent cramps and soreness. Make sure the players are ready to practice, not ready for recess or a gossip session, this will affect their overall grades!

have a great week, and see you saturday!

Notes from Coach Sean, Feb 6th, 09

Hi Danger followers, welcome to a new era in Danger Soccer.

As coach of the team i'm planning on blogging every now and again, mainly to comment on how the team are doing.

Lots to report so far with this being the first blog. I have been working closely with Kelly while liasoning with Denny and other people who have helped me gain lots of information regarding the players, club and supporters - haha.

This week has been spent planning for practices, i have managed to 'get organised' i have made up my session ideas and plans while also getting prepared for tryouts.

I know alot of you are ready for the season to get cranked up. I think we're in for an exciting one, i hope you guys are getting the kids ready for the season, it's going to be exciting but its going to be very hard, not only for the kids but for the parents, being a soccer mom is a big commitment!

We get the ball rolling with try-outs on the 21st of this month, if you guys know anyone who is eligible and has the ability to play with us, have them come out. remember the Birthdates have to fall between 8/01/98 and 7/31/00.

On a very exciting note, our fabulous General Manager Kelly has been working hard behind the scenes, if you all (y'all - haha) could only imagine how many hours of hard work she has done, and indeed spent on the phone with me! Keep up the good work Kelly! I am excited that she has managed to get the uniforms ordered and as far as i know they will be here for the start of camp which is March 2nd through 6th.

Finally i would like to encourage you guys to comment on these blogs, Parent input can be very helpful, it is you guys who pay the fee's, i'd like to hear from you regarding your points of view during the season! I'm going to keep up with blogging once a week hopefully.

Thanks for reading, look forward to seeing you all soon

Cheers

Coach Sean
